ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Across America, in many cities, we are faced with two major issues; water conservation and water quality. We are committed to environmental protection and water conservation. American Pride is in the water management business. First, water is applied using special nozzles, which deliver low volume at high pressure reducing water consumption in the in-bay automatic car wash and in a self-service bay. Secondly, we capture and filter all road film [dirt] during the washing process in a sedimentation tank and through an oil/water separator. We return pretreated water to the city sewer system, which actually needs the water to operate. Solids [dirt] are removed and disposed of offsite in accordance with EPA guidelines.

We have been allowed to install separate sewer meters at six (6) locations, which each have a reclamation system. The results of our stewardship program are due to a collaborative effort with environmental engineers and consultants, and reflect our financial commitment to invest in our future. Our Water Conservation Program includes new nozzles, new equipment technology, recycling and reclamation.

We invest in our communities through our Charity Car Wash Program. This program discourages the wasteful use of water and the disposal of polluted water into our storm drainage system as a result of parking lot car washes. To reinforce the benefits of professional car washing, we provide charitable groups discounted coupons to sell for fundraising.

At American Pride, we know that water is precious. Whether through our Charity Car Wash Program or our daily business practices, we strive to make the best use of our water resources and to educate our customers and the general public on the value of proper waste water disposal, recycling and reclamation.

Please refer to the Conservation Certification Program For the Professional Vehicle Wash Industry adopted by the City of Raleigh. This program is designed to promote water conservation each day of the year. It is a monumental change from the old philosophy of consumption, and it makes a statement to the general public and other industries that water conservation is not just a goal, but a way of life. For all new construction projects, we install water reclamation systems. We have made a consistent effort to get the message out to our customers and vendors. As part of a public awareness campaign, we integrated “Tad” the frog into our messaging, which links us to the environment. Our letterhead, business cards, shirts, hats and service trucks and all printed materials promote, “Conserve Water, Life Depends on it. Use American Pride.”
